Destination Imagination
Destination ImagiNation ,Inc., is the world’s largest non-profit creative, teamwork, and problem solving organization.
It is for elementary students through college levels.
Samuels offers the program to 1st-5th grade. Each team is made up of 5 to 7 team mates.
Through creative problem solving it provides an exciting set up of Team Challenges and Instant Challenges each academic year.
1st and 2nd graders, called The Rising Stars, are non-competitive.
Their challenge is given to them.
Any grade above is competitive and chooses one out of 5 choices for their challenge.
These are their long term challenges.
All teams including Rising Stars go to a competition at the end of their season.
They perform their long term challenge as a team.
They will be given an instant challenge on the day of the competition with a few minutes to come up with a team solution.
The judges take notes continually while they come up with an instant solution.
“It was amazing how well they worked together spontaneously. I was very proud.
The skills of working as a team with very creative solutions were extremely impressive.
I believe this program teaches our children such good life skills.
It is worth our time and effort.”
Volunteers for leading a team are the only way to offer this to our children.
